Edition 6 [6/7June ] - Moate & Castledaly Newsletter [http://www.parishofmoate.com/newsletter/edition5.html]

Reflect: Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the Gospel Jesus uses two parables to teach about the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom exists where there is harmony and peace among us in union with God. The mission of proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom given to the Apostles is now given to us. In the Lord’s Prayer, we say “thy Kingdom come" and so we pray that with God's grace we will build the Kingdom by living lives modelled on Jesus.

Cemetery Sundays: Mass will be celebrated in Donegan Cemetery on the 5th of July at 3pm. Mass will be celebrated in Castledaly Cemetery on the 12th of July at 3pm. Cemetery Sunday is a very special occasion when people come together to remember their departed loved ones. It can be a sad and lonely time as memories come back to us of the ones for whom we pray. While they are gone from us now we try to console ourselves that they are enjoying a fuller life of peace and joy and happiness in God's presence in heaven. 'I am the Ressurection and the Life, the one who believes in me will never suffer'.

Choirs in St Patrick’s Church: Our weekend Masses are greatly enriched by the different choirs. Sincere thanks to all involved for their sense of commitment and dedication.Their consistent presence, weekend after weekend shows their understanding that music is an integral part of meaningful worship.

Exam Time: We continue to remember those who are sitting exams. We remember especially the students in Moate Community School who are involved in the Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate. May they find within themselves the ability and relaxed.
