Parish of Moate, Mount Temple and Castledaly
The Moate Parish community has three churches Moate, Mount Temple and Castledaly. It also has five schools under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois. Two schools in Moate – St. Brigid’s N.S and St. Oliver Plunkett B.N.S., Kilcleagh N.S. in Castledaly, a National School in Mount Temple – An Grianán, and St. Ciaran’s N.S in Baylin.
Our pastoral council was set up in 2007. It is a recommended structure within the church and is concerned with assisting and having an input into the pastoral work of the church in the parish and diocese.The members are representative of three areas the parish, and underwent initial training on the role and purpose of a pastoral council, before setting about its work. This pastoral council has completed work some time ago and a new one will be formed later this year.
Finance committee
Parish also has a finance committee, comprising of people from all three areas of the parish and work on the practical things that need to be done. At the moment we are preparing to have a new car park at the back of St.Ciaran’s Church Castledaly.
